MIKE KIRTON actor/stuntman/writer/producer/director
With over 40 years in the entertainment industry, Mike’s long and varied accomplishments has garnered him the worldwide reputation for being the ‘go to’ guy to bring a project in on time and on budget. Mike began his illustrious career as a stuntman at the age of 12 as a 4 th generation Floridian driving tractors on a dairy farm. From there in his late teens he developed his own dare devil show “the master of disaster” jumping a car through a school bus every weekend to a cheering stock car race crowd. Which lead to his discovery by an Italian film producer who needed his particular skill, car jumps in a film? Three weeks later Mike was living in Rome applying his new found film car as a “premier car shoe, (driver) in European films. Then after a couple of dozen European action films under his belt, Mike headed off to Hollywood. Where Mike worked his way up the Hollywood ladder, often working as a Stunt Coordinator in-between stunt gigs, and finally, as an actor in such blockbuster films as Bad Boys (starring Will Smith/Martin Lawrence). Like every other Hollywood actor, Mike wrote scripts in his spare time. However, he was one of the chosen few independent writers who not only found financing for his scripts, but also got several of Hollywood’s “A” actors to star in them. His first film, Cardboard Condo, a drama documentary about the homeless. His next film, Smoke ‘n Lightning, starred Christopher Atkins as the action hero. With these two successful films propelling him forward, Mike’s next film, The Last Marshal, netted him the actor’s actor – Scott Glenn - as his leading man. Not one to sit on his laurels, Mike jumped right into his next script, Strike Force (a/k/a The Librarians) starring two more Hollywood A-listers – William Forysthe and Burt Reynolds. All four films were written, directed, and produced by Mike, gained worldwide distribution and brought in profits for the investors. Mike’s expertise gained from years of being an innovative stuntman, Stunt Coordinator, and actor combined with his uncanny ability to get more “bang for the buck” with his unique directorial and producer planning style does, indeed, make him the ‘go to’ guy for successful completed projects in film, television, and videos.
